Part of my Ocean Series 2026, this 30 × 30 inch mixed-media painting is inspired by the ever-changing colors and movement of the Southern California ocean—a landscape I have always felt deeply connected to.

Layered washes of acrylic, house paint, and spray paint move from deep, inky blues into softer shades of turquoise and pale blue, creating a sense of depth, movement, and calm. The loose, textural layers are reminiscent of water shifting toward the shoreline, capturing the peaceful rhythm of the coast rather than a literal seascape.
